3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Metal Bonder Acrylic Adhesive DP8407NS is a structural acrylic adhesive designed for permanent, high-strength bonding in demanding industrial applications, especially where minimal surface preparation is required.

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Metal Bonder Acrylic Adhesive DP8407NS is a grey, two-part acrylic adhesive offering high overlap shear and peel strength combined with good impact resistance and long-term durability. It is specifically engineered to bond bare metals with little to no surface preparation, while also bonding well to a wide variety of other materials, including most plastics.

This adhesive provides excellent corrosion resistance and is capable of bonding slightly oily metal surfaces. It maintains excellent bond strength and impact resistance even at low temperatures down to –40 °C. DP8407NS is ideal for industrial applications where permanent, high-strength bonds are required and can help eliminate grinding, surface finishing, and time associated with welding, spot welding, and mechanical fasteners.

The adhesive is designed to withstand powder coating and paint bake cycles up to 204 °C (400 °F) for at least one hour. Its moderate non-sag, thixotropic formulation allows precise application without slumping or excessive spreading, even on vertical surfaces. DP8407NS has a 10:1 mix ratio, a 7-minute work life, and fast strength build-up at room temperature. It also offers a long shelf life and does not require refrigeration.
