Detailed informations
Use 3M™ Cloth Belt 707E for increased durability and cutting efficiency over non-ceramic abrasives. Our cloth belts feature a blend of 3M™ Ceramic Abrasive Grain and premium aluminium oxide to make a longer lasting abrasive.
They have a flexible rayon cloth backing that easily follows contours and can wrap around parts. This flexibility makes our belt a good choice when using a soft contact wheel or slack of belt. The abrasive is firmly bonded to the backing with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure.
Use our belt on stainless steel, cobalt chrome, titanium and carbon steel for dimensioning parts. It’s ideal for deburring, blending and scratch refinement on castings and forgings. They can be used wet or dry.
An incorporated grinding aid helps reduce running temperatures. This protects heat sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys and cobalt alloys from stress cracks and discolouration.
Our fabric belts come in a variety of sizes. Wider belts are designed for wide belt sanders for flat finishing – to smooth rough cut edges of metal sheets or add a grain pattern to stainless steel sheets. Medium width belts are generally used on a backstand for weld removal or on a feed through style flat finisher for imparting a finish on sheets and coils. Narrow belts can be used on backstands for grinding and finishing, or on file tools for finishing in right angle corners.
Recommendation for implementation
- Use for light to moderate-pressure stock removal, blending and scratch refinement
